buggy's question:
What should I expect to see at the Tikal site close to El Peten town?(give a different answer) .
Tikal was a Mayan town that counted about 50.000-10.000 people in 7th century AD, but was mysteriously abandoned during 900 AD. On the acropoli hill, you'll encounter pyramids, all restored, but the centerpiece is Great Plaza, lined with temples that once shone in bright colors and stucco under the sun. Climb on Temple s V and IV, as they are the tallest and offer great sunset views, disturbed only by the cry of toucans and monkeys.
